She hosts, with Patricia Worth, Ohki’s Medicine Center in New Mexico on a full time basis & hosts Ohki & her daughter, Amalia, in their U.S. visits.  She helps promote the ixmalé Craft Projects in the USA & the one-of-a-kind pieces of the Maya artisans.

“The Maya people are the poorest of the poor in Mexico where they have been marginalized & persecuted for centuries.  Through my many visits to Chiapas & work in the past three decades with Red Wind Councils, I’ve seen first hand the devastating effects of extreme poverty & globalization on these spiritual & amazing people.  I have also seen the incredible things that the Maya can accomplish, creating so much positive change with just a little steady financial support from us. I saw an alternative school being built by one community where children of all ages would be the first members of their families to become literate. Donations from donors helped support the basic needs of the teacher at that alternative indigenous school while he received his training.  The people there receive Red Wind funds with so much gratitude; actually making our names a prayer in their hearts.  I pray that many more of you join us to bring the gift of hope to more Maya families in Chiapas.”

In Memory of…

To Eliberto & Francisco,
original indigenous founders of Red Wind Councils with Ohki Forest.
It is with deep fondness we will remember you as the initiators of this amazing work & your dedication to our Maya projects.
May the inspiration you so generously gave us all for many decades  continue to live in us with strength & help us so we pursue as faithfully as you did the spiritual vision & social justice cause you advocated with such passion. You have been our teachers at so many levels & you will be greatly missed. You have helped thousands, in Chiapas & in the USA, with your visionary Medicines. You have shown us all a path of true altruism, deep love & consciousness for Mother Earth & all her people. We are forever grateful to you.  May you be guided by spirits in your paths wherever you go, always.
May we meet again.

Eliberto Molina Jimenez

Eliberto was a tremendous Chiapas artist, ceremonial drummer & musician & an extraordinary Medicine healer from Maya Zoque roots. He was raised in an extremely impoverished environment, & due to this, developed in his life the cornerstone of his life vision, the pressing revival of his ancestral legacy & supporting the vital autonomy of the Maya. Eliberto has been instrumental in implementing sustainable projects benefiting rural communities,  in Chiapas, helping millions of people.  Many have been touched & healed by his unique & powerful Medicine pieces & sacred Masks as well as his incredible Healing ceremonies.

As a Native born in a broken world, he wrote in his life:

“Red Wind Councils & Ohki’s teachings have given me a great opportunity to connect to the world & be able to freely express my vision of the ancestral, Native world I come from. This is of vital importance today that the Original People share their vision for there has been a tremendous loss of cultural identity & spiritual values in the Americas. Our cultural legacy opens onto a renewed Vision of the Earth & Spirit that is profoundly spiritual, & which is waiting for us to be reclaimed & be given birth to help others in their seeking. All our projects at Red Wind have been crucial to strengthen my spirit on the good Red road & to recuperate the threads of our Maya history & its meaning & to help create with my companions of Red Wind, a better future for the Coming Faces.”

Francisco Yolte’ Perez

Francisco Yolte’ Perez was a Maya Tzotzil indigenous born in an extremely impoverished village in the mountains surrounding the valley of Jovel. From an early age he survived through distressing adversities. As with so many Maya, he suffered marginalization, discrimination, injustices, lack of education & fragmentation of his family.  Francisco felt compelled from his early teenage years to engage full time in social justice work for his people. For the past 21 years, he was been a leader on the main Chiapas board in Red Wind’s community efforts, actively involved in healthcare, education & agro-ecology projects that have dramatically improved the lives of thousands of Maya families as well as being a full time caretaker of Ohki’s two Medicine Centers in Chiapas.

He wrote of his life at Red Wind:

“Many of my indigenous companions have realized through the spiritual teachings of Ohki’s Native heritage that our ancestral Maya traditions have common roots throughout the Americas. Many of us at Red Wind have learned from Ohki more exactly what the devastating damage of the conquest has taken away from us & of our original spiritual & cultural traditions. My intensive social work since an early age has personally helped me heal the deep despair & traumatic wounds I had & reconnect to my soul & deeply heal my spiritual roots. This has made it possible for me to create a dignified & decent life out of the extreme hardships & poverty I have witnessed & to be able to help many indigenous gain true opportunities of hope, justice & stability.”
